Fresh water supply, shore power and waste managment

The port of Kirkenes provides services such as connection to shore power, fresh water supply, and ship waste managment. To order these services, please contact the administration. Follow the link above for pricing and terms. 

Shore power

We supply shore power on Dypvannskaia, Industrikaia, Hurtigrutekaia and Sentrumskaia with different voltages, frequencies, strength and different connections:

  • Industrikaia 230v and 400v
  • Sentrumskaia 230v and 400v
  • Dypvannskaia 230v and 400v

Sale of shore power

Vessels that will be berthing for more than 48 hours must connect to shore power. Exceptions must be agreed upon in advance with the administration. 

Electricity remuneration is calculated based on consumption. Consumption and grid rent are priced according to a price list. In the event of a significant change in electricity purchase prices, changes in the price can still be made throughout the year. 

Remuneration is calculated for bill-based connection and disconnection, as well as any rental of junction boxes, cables, and other equipment 

Fresh water

On Dypvannskaia, Industrikaia, Hurtigrutekaia and Sentrumskaia, we also provide fresh water with a capacity of to 30 m³/h. Reservations are made that the water filling will not occur when the temperature is less than - 15 ℃ and that the water filling has been ordered.  

Ship renovation fee

Ship renovation fees are authorized in Norwegian Law, as the EEA Agreement. A vessel only pays a waste fee per. day at Port of Kirkenes quays, regardless of the number of internal relocations of the vessel.

Waste managment

On Industrikaia, we have an environmental station for receving plastic, cardboard and food waste, as well ast pallets from ships. 

There may be ongoing fees and costs for the vessel if waste is incorrectly sorted in the environmental station on Industrikaia. For more information, please contact the administration.
